Kristen Stewart Swapped Her Oscars 2022 Heels for a Comfier Shoe Almost Immediately — See Photos

Kristen Stewart was apparently tired of carrying the weight of being a style icon at the Oscars 2022, as she participated in an immediate post-red carpet outfit change.

When Kristen first hit the Oscars red carpet, she did so in a custom Chanel ‘fit, complete with shorts. Stylist Tara Swennen was responsible for the impeccable outfit and accessorized the red carpet-ready look with Chanel stiletto heels and lots of jewelry.

In what's maybe the most relatable moment of the entire evening, Kristen chose to swap out her heels for Chanel loafers right as she was stepping off the red carpet — quite literally — and reporters spotted her as she made the change. “Kristen Stewart immediately changed out of heels and into flats the second she got off the red carpet. Amen, girl,” Amy Kaufman noted on Twitter.

And, well, Kristen technically even walked the red carpet in the loafers and was photographed with fiancée Dylan Meyer. Of course, comfort was key and Kristen added a pair of thick socks to the look, too.

Even with loafers (which she wore during the actual ceremony as well), Kristen still looked amazing in her shorts and suit jacket and as Tara revealed to Harpers Bazaar, a significant amount of research went into Kristen's attire. Along with Internet sleuthing on who last wore shorts to the Oscars, Tara and Kristen focused on creating an Oscars outfit that was totally K.Stew.

“We were teetering between pants and shorts, but Kristen, being the fashion chameleon that she is, was like, ‘Let’s do it. Let’s go for shorts,'" Tara said. Those shorts ended up being a hit and will be forever remembered as another stylish suit moment from the star.

As for recreating the socks with loafers look for yourself, it's definitely doable, even if your evening doesn't include an appearance at the Oscars. But, then again, summer is just around the corner and now might be the time to try coordinating your shorts with comfy loafers and socks.
